Joachim Kieft | CEO
A merchant sailor for many years and yacht Captain (Master 3000 GT) on superyachts, Joachim has sailed 160.000 miles worldwide before he started as project manager at the Jongert yard on new build yachts up to 45 meters. Using his knowledge and practical understanding of yacht building in combination with his experience with owners and yacht Captains he brings along a wealth of experience. Joachim is in charge of Claasen Shipyards and is mostly involved in Sales and After sales.
Wouter van Rijn | General Manager
Wouter started his career as a maritime officer and sailed more than 100,000 nautical miles on Dutch cargo and cruise ships worldwide. He then started his career as a project manager in the yachting industry, working at several shipyards. Wouter was responsible for the construction of various new yachts in the twenty-to-forty-metre range. Privately, he is a sailing instructor and regatta sailor on small yachts, which contributes greatly to the practical aspect of his work.
Victor Weerens | Technical Manager
After earning his degree in naval architecture at Southampton Solent University, Victor went on to sail professionally for three years. He then joined the design team of Hoek Design where he worked for over ten years. In 2008, Victor joined Claasen Shipyards to manage the build of yachts such as the J-class Lionheart, the Truly Classic Atalante and the F-class Firefly.
Anco Kok | Marketing Manager
Anco is responsible for marketing and public relations. His career in yacht construction began in parallel with his marketing studies in the Netherlands. Over the past ten years, he has worked in marketing and sales positions for a number of well-known Dutch yards. These various positions allowed Anco to enhance his technical knowledge of yacht construction, broaden his marketing skills and develop a wide network in the industry.
Tycho Zwart | Project Administration
After graduating in 2001 from a carpentry and furniture college, Tycho started work as a carpenter at Claasen Shipyards. After four years, he was asked to join the office for a half day per week. After a few years, he switched to full-time office work and is now responsible for the entire project administration.
Gert Jan Timmerman | Project Engineer
After completing his pre-university secondary education and a degree in mechanical engineering at an institute of technology, Gert Jan spent four years in engineering, working on everything from installation of cardboard houses to lipstick production machines. He was a design and production supervisor/project manager for five years, working at custom designed cranes, deck equipment hatches and other special products for the superyacht industry,including yards such as Feadship and Oceanco. He also spent four years in engineering design and as site supervisor and project manager on the construction of dredgers worldwide (especially in South Africa, Malaysia and Bangladesh). At Claasen Shipyards, Gert Jan is in charge of all the engineering (3D design 3D, finite element analysis, calculations) needed to ensure the optimal operation of the custom built superyachts.
Mirjam van Zaane | Office Manager
Mirjam has been working for Claasen Shipyards since 2012. The maritime world is familiar territory for her as Mirjam spent her childhood in a yachtbuilding yard. Before Claasen, Mirjam worked in similar positions at a bank and then an advertising agency. She has also spent 15 years working at a reputable hull builder in Friesland. A position within Claasen Shipyards was a perfect match for her nautical experience. Mirjam takes care of financial, project and personnel administration. She also provides support to purchasing, is responsible for HR and occupational health matters, and arranges various other matters at Claasen. As a true office manager, she ensures that everything runs perfectly smoothly in the office.
