No fewer than six of these extraordinary vessels competed in five races in winds that reached as high as 22 knots on occasions. It made for a spectacular sight as well as some fierce competition. The Js were among 38 entrants ranging from 30 to 88 metres who joined this year’s St Barths Bucket, hosted against an amazing Caribbean backdrop. Owners, crew and friends were treated to a superb social programme and unforgettable action out on the pristine waters.
The 43.40-metre Lionheart came third in the J-class segment after four days of edge-of-seat racing. Check out some of the fascinating blog entries on the official regatta site for more information. Meanwhile, Lionheart is already looking forward to more racing delights as the black-hulled beauty graces the Bermuda America’s Cup on 16, 19 and 20 June, followed by the Newport J-Class World Championships on 22-26 August.
