The two Claasen builds taking part in the Millennium Cup shined on New Zealand waters during the final day of event. With light winds delaying the race start, Shamoun was raring to go when she eventually bounded away from the line at 13.10.

Claasen- built yachts Kealoha and Shamoun have enjoyed a fantastic second day's racing in New Zealand's beautiful Bay of Islands. With a clear day dawning, the race was anyone's and competitors hit the course determined to take honours.

Exciting first day for Claasen at the NZ Millennium Cup

The Millennium Cup in New Zealand has enjoyed a tremendous start. The event’s slogan – ‘a superyacht regatta in one of the world’s great natural playgrounds’ – seemed very appropriate as a fleet of eight great boats vied for position in the emerald waters of the Bay of Islands. They included two Claasen yachts: the 33-metre sloop Shamoun and the Truly Classic 90 Kealoha, both designed by Andre Hoek.

The Claasen management team and the leading Dutch superyacht builder Vitters Shipyard have jointly acquired Claasen Shipyards and will now form the new owners and management team of the yard.
